Five Day Intensive Evaluation Training Course

  • Introduction to Evaluation and Planning
  • Frameworks and Concepts in Evaluation
  • Cultural, Political and Economic Contexts for Evaluation
  • Planning and Implementing Strategies in Evaluation
  • Applied Evaluation

This five-day course is designed to familiarise health workers and researchers with the theory and practice of evaluation as applied to health promotion and community programmes. 

The course aims to:

  • Highlight evaluation in the context of Te Tiriti O Waitangi, and Kaupapa Maori Research
  • Assist with the design of community based health promotion evaluation
  • Expand knowledge and understanding of the range of evaluation methodologies
  • Increase understanding and application of research methods
  • Highlight the practical, political, ethical, and contextual issues in evaluation
  • Provide networking opportunities

The course presumes some familiarity with research techniques in either the social or health sciences and is directed at those who are currently, or who want to be, involved in health promotion evaluation

Partcipants will be expected to attend the full five days
